Lake Grubb in West Hempfield Township Opened in July 2001. The 55-acre Lake Grubb Park is a
joint effort of West Hempfield Township and Mountville Borough. It encompasses the 13-acre lake,
and includes a mile-long trail around the lake, a handicapped-accessible quarter-mile trail, two
pavilions and restrooms. Bait is available at a vending machine.
The lake is the result of the filling of a former iron ore quarry. Extremely deep, it offers
good fishing for panfish and largemouth bass.
No boating is allowed and only shore fishing is permitted. No wading, swimming, boating, or ice
fishing is permitted. A number of access areas have been
developed around the lake to afford for ease of fishing. |
