Susquehanna River American Shad
2010
Shad operations for the Susquahanna River in 2010 got underway April 5 at Conowingo. The 1st American shad to pass through the fish-lift this season was on April 7 (1st of 2009 passed April 19). Fish-way operations begin when water temperatures are around 50°F, which encourages upstream shad movement. Shad counts concluded for 2010 with the final day of operation at York Haven on June 13.

Running totals linked to weekly reports of fish passage operations at the four hydroelectric dams on the lower Susquehanna are provided in the table below.
