| Shad operations got underway April 1, 2009 at Conowingo. The 1st American shad of the year didn't pass through the fish-way until April 19. Fish-way operations begin when water temperatures are around 50°F, which encourages upstream shad movement. York Haven's last day of operation was June 15, ending the 2009 countings.
