|Meadville, PA – Are you looking for a great way to connect with your family during the wintertime? Discover just how much fun the cold weather can be when you and your family head outside for a PFBC Family Ice Fishing Program. The Mercer County Conservation District, M.K. Goddard State Park,and the PA Fish and Boat Commission will be sponsoring a Family Ice Fishing Program at Lake Wilhelm on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Learn the basic skills of ice fishing like rigging and using a tip-up, working a jigging rod, selecting bait and lures and using an auger to bore your fishing hole. Also included in the program is information about basic ice safety and how to determine adequate ice thickness for fishing. The best part is that you and your family will have the opportunity to experience ice fishing first hand. No fishing license is required and all equipment will be provided.
What’s the catch??? Since you’ll be learning and fishing together, adults must bring a child and children must bring an adult. Participants must be eight years of age or older. Please dress for cold weather. Bring warm boots, gloves, hat, etc. Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 35 people.

Complete the short “Register for a Fishing Program” form and then click on “Submit”. Deadline for registering is January 25, 2013.
