HARRISBURG – Tonight’s community meeting to address Speedwell Forge Lake safety issues with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will be available live online, according to Sen. Mike Brubaker (R-36) and Rep. Tom Creighton (R-193).

Local residents can watch live video of the hearing on Brubaker’s website at senatorbrubaker.com and Creighton’s website at repcreighton.com.

The community meeting is scheduled from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Brickerville Fire Company Hall at 10 Hopeland Road in Lititz. The meeting will address community concerns after extensive damage was discovered to the spillway and the dam, resulting in the complete drawdown of Speedwell Forge Lake.

The live feed will allow all local residents to get the latest news on safety issues at the lake since seating at the community meeting is limited and a large number of residents are expected to attend.

Representatives of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will be available at Wednesday’s meeting to offer information and answer questions regarding Speedwell Forge Lake safety issues. PFBC representatives who will be on hand include John Arway, Executive Director; Brian Barner, Deputy Director for Administration; Mike Kaufmann, Area Fisheries Manager; and Jack Rokavec, Chief of Engineering.

The mission of the Fish and Boat Commission is to protect, conserve, and enhance the Commonwealth’s aquatic resources and provide fishing and boating opportunities. For more information about fishing and boating in Pennsylvania, please visit our website at fishandboat.com.
