| Bellefonte, PA – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) will begin lowering the water level at Meadow Grounds Lake, Ayr Township, in Fulton County on Monday, October 18. The drawdown is in anticipation of dam maintenance operations to be completed this winter. The drawdown procedure will continue to mid-November, weather permitting. The lake will be lowered approximately six feet. The lake will be restored to normal water level in spring 2011 depending on the snow and rainfall accumulations.
Fishing and boating is not anticipated to be impacted during or after the drawdown. Anglers and boaters may continue to use the lake. Access to the shoreline may be limited and anglers and boaters should use caution.
The mission of the Fish and Boat Commission is to protect, conserve, and enhance the Commonwealth’s aquatic resources and provide fishing and boating opportunities. For more information about fishing and boating in Pennsylvania, please visit our website at www.fishandboat.com.
