| Meadville, PA – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and Cook Forest State Park will host a Family Fishing Program at the Children’s Fishing Pond at Cook Forest State Park on Thursday July 1, 2010 from 5:30 p.m-8:30 p.m. Families must be preregistered and should arrive a few minutes early. Call the Park Office at 814-744-8475 to sign your family up. The program teaches participants how to be S.M.A.R.T. anglers; how to rig a fishing rod with bait; knot tying; rules and regulations; casting practice; and hands-on fishing.
Participants are NOT required to have a fishing license while participating in this program. However, after the program is over, anyone 16-years-old must have a valid PA Fishing License. A license can be obtained online at http://fishandboat.com (The Outdoor Shop), or several local retail and bait stores. See our agent listing to find stores that sell fishing licenses.
