|The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission and Columbia County Bassmasters Association, in conjunction with PPL and the Berwick Borough Community Policing Program, are sponsoring a free educational Family Fishing Program for families in our area on Saturday May 16th.
The program is open to families with children ages 8 – 15 years old. A parent or guardian must accompany all children to this wonderful event. We’ll even provide the fishing equipment! The program will include a welcome and introduction, and presentations regarding SMART fishing, regulations, licenses, where to go, equipment, knots, rigging and baiting, casting skills, a family fishing session, and lunch. Reservations are required for this event. Please contact Mr. Michael Monico, telephone number 570-752-3223 to register. The Registration Deadline is Saturday, May 9, 2009. Please call between the hours of 9am – 6pm. This event is limited to 100 people, so be sure to register as soon as possible!

Prizes will be given for fishing. No fishing license is needed for this event. We’ll even take photos of your fish.
In addition to the Fishing Program by the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, PPL will have Riverlands educational information, the Borough of Berwick will have their Community Policing trailer and educational information, and the Columbia County Bassmasters Association will have displays of fishing equipment and boats. These activities will be ongoing throughout the event for young children that aren’t old enough for the program, as well as before and after the program for adults and young anglers.
