| Area 4 biologists completed a survey on the stocked trout area of Roaring Creek, Columbia County, during
the week of June 7, 2004. We found a large number of hatchery trout remaining from an
in-season stocking during the week of May 24. Additionally, this
section of stream supported some wild brown trout and some browns that held over from the previous
years' stocking. Lots of rain and cool temperatures in the summer of 2003 permitted these fish to hold
over. The largest one we caught was a 22 inch holdover brown. Trout anglers looking for some late season
stocked trout fishing opportunities would be hard pressed to find a better stream. Angling pressure was
light during the week of our survey.
