| On May 17, 2004 Area 1 personnel sampled the largemouth bass population in Lower Hereford Manor Lake, a
45-acre lake located just off of Rt. 288 in eastern Beaver County, just west of Zelienople. The PA Fish
and Boat Commission is responsible for the management of the Commonwealth-owned lake, which is also
stocked with trout for seasonal trout angling.
In 60 minutes of electrofishing, 94 largemouth bass were caught. Fish ranged in size from 139 mm (5.5 inches) to over 450 mm (17.75 inches). Most bass were from 11 to 15 inches long. Lower Hereford Manor Lake is in the "Big Bass Program" and bass are managed with a 15-inch minimum size limit and creel limit of 4 fish per day (see page 17 of your regulations book).
