On May 20, 2004 Area 1 personnel sampled the largemouth bass population in Glade Run Lake, a 52 acre lake located in southern Butler County just off of Rt 228, halfway between Pittsburgh and Butler. The PFBC is responsible for the management of this Commonwealth-owned lake which is also stocked with trout for seasonal trout angling.

In 60 minutes of electrofishing, 159 largemouth bass were caught. Fish ranged in size from 151 mm (6 inches) to 558 mm (22 inches). Most bass were in the 10-12 inch size range. Glade Run Lake is in the Big Bass Program (a 15 inch minimum size limit and a 4 fish per day creel limit as reflected on page 17 of the 2004 fishing license summary book).
