Canoe Creek Lake
Largemouth bass anglers at the 155 acre Canoe Creek Lake in Blair County’s Canoe Creek State Park can expect good catches of bass over 12 inches in 2003. Southcentral Fisheries Management biologists in a night electrofishing evaluation in late May 2003 found a healthy largemouth population with a night electrofishing catch of 81 largemouth bass ranging in length from 4 inches to 17 inches. The total catch rate was over 101 plus bass per electrofishing hour. Over 47% of the largemouth catch exceeded the state wide legal length of 12 inches and 4% of the catch exceeded the Canoe Lake Big Bass regulated legal length of 15 inches.
