BIOLOGIST REPORT

Lackawanna Lake

Lackawanna County
May 20, 2002

Anglers can anticipate very good bass fishing at Lackawanna State Park this coming season. Our electrofishing sample on the night of May 20, 2002, found a dense population with a number of larger fish present. In spite of the cold, high, and muddy water, our total largemouth bass catch rate was 122 fish/hour. 31% of the bass exceeded 12 inches and 9% exceeded the legal limit of 15 inches. Joe Chavez shows off the best fish of the night, a 21 inch, 5.3 pound lunker, in the picture below.
