BIOLOGIST REPORT
Duman Dam
Channel catfish were not collected during the survey; therefore, channel catfish stockings may be discontinued at Duman Dam. The majority of trout were collected near the dam breast. Three trophy trout were captured during the survey: two 22-inch rainbow trout and one 18-inch golden rainbow trout. Duman Dam contained a moderate density of largemouth bass with 35% of the bass greater than 12 inches. Bluegills were available in good number and sizes. Pumpkinseeds, black crappies, and yellow perch were collected in low numbers but quality-sized fish were present. Most of the panfish and bass were collected in the upper end of the impoundment. Chain pickerel can be found throughout the Susquehanna, Potomac, and Delaware drainages in Pennsylvania. However, the chain pickerel inhabits only a few waters including Duman Dam in the Ohio River drainage in Pennsylvania. In Duman Dam, chain pickerel were collected in low numbers, but legal fish were available with 56% greater than 15 inches. Duman Dam provides anglers opportunities to catch trout, bass, panfish, and chain pickerel.
