BIOLOGIST REPORT
Cedar Run
Cedar Run in Lycoming and Tioga counties was surveyed by Fish and Boat Commission biologists to evaluate the fishery under Trophy Trout regulations. Two historical sites are electrofished annually to document the fishery under a time-series basis. The lower site is located approximately 500 yards below Mine Hole Run and proceeds upstream to Mine Hole Run. Trout abundance estimates since 1997 are summarized below.

Cedar Run continues to support an excellent wild trout population. Slightly reduced biomass in 1999 and 2000 may be attributed to low water conditions from the summer and fall of 1999. However, good numbers of legal trout continue to be found at both sites and young-of-year size trout are adequate to support this fine fishery.
