BIOLOGIST REPORT
Shenango Lake
Shenango Lake is a 3,500-acre lake in Mercer County. The lake is included in the Commission's Big Bass Program - managed with a 15-inch minimum size limit,/four-fish-per-day creel limit. To sample and monitor the black bass population, Commission staff conducted electro-fishing surveys of Shenango Lake on May 27, June 1 and June 3,1999.
A total of 120 largemouth bass were sampled, ranging in size from 3 inches to over 19.7 inches. A total of 75 smallmouth bass were recorded, with the largest measuring between 14.8 and 15.7 inches.
