BIOLOGIST REPORT
Black Creek
Black Creek, Carbon County, is a Class A wild brown trout stream located primarily within State Game Land #149. The stream was surveyed by Commission biologists July 12, 13 and on August 18, 1999. This section of Black Creek is managed under Conventional Statewide trout regulations. One sampling site contained 105 wild brown trout, of which one was 23.8 inches and weighed 7 pounds! Site #1 - Downstream of SR 0534 (Site length 352 yards)
Biologists were extremely pleased with these results. Results are particularly positive in light of the ongoing drought. The water temperatures recorded during the July and August surveys were 59.0 and 61.7F.
