|Commissioner G. Warren Elliott of Chambersburg, Franklin County, was appointed as an at-large boating commissioner in July 2009.
Commissioner Elliott is an avid boater and has spent time on some of the Commonwealth’s largest and most popular waters, including the Lake Erie watershed, Allegheny River, Kinzua Dam, Raystown Lake, the Juniata and Susquehanna Rivers, and Kettle, Pine and Yellow Breeches creeks.
In addition to boating, Commissioner Elliott has taken an active role in conservation efforts in his native Franklin County. He helped draft the county’s latest Comprehensive Plan, conducted the county’s first natural areas inventory and assisted with the development of the county’s first open space and recreation plan. In addition, he helped establish the Franklin County Eco Park, secure funding for the restoration of Indian Lake and produce a fishing video for the Franklin County Visitor’s Bureau.
He has held positions on the boards of directors for the Pennsylvania State Farmland Preservation Board, Franklin County Conservation Board, Franklin County Area Development Corporation and the Farmers and Merchants Trust Company.
Commissioner Elliott currently serves as the president of Cardinal Crossings Inc. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Public Administration from Shippensburg University and previously served as an adjunct professor at the university and as Chairman of the Franklin County Board of Commissioners for 12 years.
