Summary of the Art Competition

• 135 paintings were submitted from 107 different artists (both record highs - up from 101 entries from 79 artists in the 96 contest).
• Artists were allowed to choose from 32 Pennsylvania trout streams from 24 counties throughout the state.
• Approximately 72 people (mostly artists) attended the contest at Harrisburg Area Community College's Wildwood Conference Center on Thursday, May 23, 1996.
• There were three rounds of judging. The 1st round narrowed the field to 75 entries. In the 2nd round 8 finalists were chosen. The final round determined the order of the finalists.

• 3rd  - Bob Anderson of Volant, Pennsylvania - Neshannock Creek
• 4th - Frederick Carrow of Oil City, Pennsylvania - Oil Creek
• 5th - Bob Anderson - Neshannock Creek
• 6th (tie) - Bernard B. Beegle of Milroy, Pennsylvania - Letort Spring Run
• 6th (tie) - Christopher Leeper - Neshannock Creek
• 8th - Rob Stine of Vestal, New York - Slate Run
